This page describes the editorial principles that guide Trackline Notes. The purpose is transparency about how coverage decisions are made and how content is updated over time.
Topic selection
Trackline Notes publishes within a single defined cluster: European theme park attractions, specifically covering boarding flow, theming environment, queue design, and guest experience structure. Topics are selected based on the following criteria:
- The attraction is located in a European theme park and accessible to general visitors.
- The attraction's boarding, theming, or operational approach offers informational content that can be described accurately and completely without invented data.
- The subject has not been covered recently in a way that makes a new article redundant.
We do not publish content outside the European theme park cluster regardless of its potential interest. We do not publish content on financial topics, investment products, consumer credit, or any form of commercial recommendation.
Content standards
All content on Trackline Notes is editorial and informational. It describes observable facts about the attraction experience — what guests see, how vehicles board, how queues are structured, and how theming environments are organised. Content is not written to promote, advertise, or commercially benefit any park, operator, or manufacturer.
Specific quantitative data — capacity figures, speeds, dimensions — is included only where it can be accurately sourced. Where specific figures are unavailable or cannot be verified, we use neutral descriptive language rather than approximations or estimates presented as fact.
Author bylines on Trackline Notes use the Attraction Analysis Desk attribution. Individual authors are not named or profiled. This is an editorial choice consistent with the project's independent status.
Accuracy and corrections
We aim for accuracy in all published content. If a factual error is identified, the relevant article will be corrected and the updated date will be amended to reflect the revision. We do not silently remove errors — corrections are made transparently within the article text when appropriate.
Independence
Trackline Notes is not funded by, affiliated with, or commercially connected to any theme park, leisure operator, ride manufacturer, or industry body. Coverage decisions are made entirely on editorial grounds. We do not accept payments, sponsorships, or commercial arrangements in exchange for coverage or favourable treatment.
Updates policy
Articles are updated when new information changes the accuracy of the original content, or when the attraction has undergone operational or physical changes material to the walkthrough. The published date and updated date are shown on each article. The published date records when the article first appeared; the updated date records the most recent substantive revision.
